With over 31 million people in the UK having had their first vaccinations and restrictions gradually being lifted, it feels like there is a huge sense of positivity about getting our lives back on track. And that hopefully means we are Back in Business ! I have had more calls and emails in the last week with business owners wanting to kickstart their business with new photos than in the last few months!
So, this month's blog is to highlight 5 key reasons why corporate photography is so important.
These days, modern marketers use visual content to promote their businesses. As a result, photography is more crucial than ever to help you stand out in a pool of competitors. In fact, according to research, articles with relevant images average 94% more total views than articles without images.
Whilst I recognise that stock photos can be helpful in certain instances, they are definitely not the best way to showcase your business - Why? Because they are not photos of your business.
So - I ask you is....what do people see when they look at your business online? Do they see photos of generic people from stock image? Or do they get to see exactly what you do, the real team behind the business and what services you offer? You're not going to be surprised to hear that I would always recommend having your own custom photography in order to make a strong visual impression to your customers.
And if you're not convinced - here are 5 more reasons why every business needs their own set of professional marketing photos:
- Every picture tells a story -
you’ve probably heard this old adage before. According to Business Insider, we only have 7 seconds to make a strong impression. That's potential customers deciding whether to stay on your website or hop on over to a competitor. Having custom photos on your website and social media enables you to deliver a message to your clients and customers without the need for words
- They lend credibility to your brand
- consistently excellent photography tells clients you care about the little details. That you invest in your business and don't just use stock images that your competitors could use too.
- Photos of your business can add a whole new creative dimension to website content
which engages audiences, enhances blog posts and makes social media posts stand out. Did you know that people remember visual
information 6 times better
than information they read?
- Optimized professional photos can help your website SEO which will make your website perform better in overall search results. As I said above, content with relevant images get 94%
more views
- Professional photos are versatile assets - if you have a library of professional photos - you can use them across the whole marketing mix - not just your website. You can use them to build your brand on social media inc. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google My Business, Linkedin. They can also be used in blog posts, PR articles, in brochures and newsletters.
And don't worry that booking a photo shoot is going to be hugely expensive....To give you an example, I worked with a small business recently and we did a 2 hour photo shoot. This cost him £330 and he now has over 200 photos at his fingertips to market his business. Using these across his marketing mix, they're incredibly good value and an essential investment.
But don't just take my word for it - here are some examples of websites of clients that use my professional, personalised images to market their businesses:

And here are some of them being used on social media....
